C.'s actual birthday was this past Wednesday and we celebrated the traditional way: "Do what the 3 year old says" day! Last year she opted to spend her second birthday going to the playground, then Grandma's house, then playing at the beach at the local Downs Park. This year for a shocking change, we:
Played at the playground
Dyed eggs at Grandma's house
"Took naps" by eating lollypops and watching cartoons. This was when Daddy, Grandpa, and Grandma were in charge and Mommy had to go to class. But you could have guessed that.
Then Daddy took them on a bike ride to the neighborhood pier to play at the beach.
And finally, bath time and final presents opening.
So though she's taller, smarter, braver, more articulate, and looking like a beautiful little girl instead of a baby, our C. has not changed that much since last year. She still has her same favorite things- candy, exploring, swinging, and doing art. And she still has her same favorite people- Grandma, Jillian, Mommy, and Daddy (sometimes in that order). And when given total control and dozens of opportunities to make outlandish or extravagant demands, her favorite things to do are still the same things that we do everyday anyhow. And for all that and more, I love her so much.
Happy 3rd birthday my sweet little one!
