- Girls Night Out: dinner at Cheesecake Factory with the other moms from my lamaze class. Yeah, that class was 4 years ago, when I was pregnant with Jillian! I barely ever make the playdates with the kids anymore bc they live in Baltimore County and Howard County so it's 30-45 min from my house. But I always really try to make the Moms Night Outs with them!
- Comfort Food: Chocolate. cake. spinach dip. quesadillas. milkshake. these are a few of my favorite things and this is the week, baby!
- Time with Jeremiah: It has not been easy to find time for this. He's not even home yet tonight and it's already 9pm. But we're trying and that's important.
- Dance parties: this is our best family thing and we have one daily. But I've been really trying to do them up right this week!
- Yoga: I worked on some new ideas for my classes and tried a few out today. Lots of fun!
- Chatting with Friends: MOMS club meeting today and instead of trying to say hi to every single person like I usually do, I just chilled in one area and talked to that half of the room. I wasn't trying to be rude, I was just allowing myself to talk with some people that I really wanted to talk with!
- Quality Time with my kids: the library finally opened again and we have our own personal storytime assembled and checked out. Good times!
Best Moment of the Day: Sweet little cuddly children! We had a busy morning and usually that leads to overtired kids around dinner time. But I was so tired that dinner was microwaved veggie burgers and we watched "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" afterwards. This let them just be tired and quiet, and thus cuddly.
Worst Moment of the Day: Why is it that kids only sleep in on days when you need to have an early start? Jeremiah was out of the house early today so I had to do the chickens before taking the kids to get set up for yoga. They of course wanted to feed the chickens by themselves. Which means trekking at toddler speed through treacherous icy snow that's still over their waists when they step wrong. And then they dropped the food on the snow just outside of the coop. And then took forever to collect the eggs. And then started crying about having cold hands. So I had to carry two crying snowy kids and a bucket of eggs back through the treacherous snow without breaking anything. And the whole time I'm reminding them how mommy's in a hurry and we need to all pull together here. Classic.
Thoughts of the Day: I'm also excited that on Friday I'm going away for the WHOLE WEEKEND with Heather! Friday at noon until Sunday afternoon. I already kind of miss the kids and Jeremiah. It's time we could be spending together but we aren't. I'm crazy that way. But I'm trying to push that away to make room for my humungous excitement over our weekend getaway! I have a spa package and a mini-scrapbook project planned. Plus my book club books. I'm so ready!
I'm so excited too! I feel the same way. I'm already missing everyone a little bit and I can't believe I decided to go for an entire weekend. I feel like this is time that should be spent with them...but at the same time, won't we be better mommies and wives because we spent a little time on ourselves? Hurrah for a spa weekend!!!!
