I've suspended all large-scale projects, like coordinating the roof repair, planning my future with Itsy Bitsy Yoga, and designing the t-shirts and parade for Jeremiah's campaign.
Now I'm writing each day's to-do list and focusing on that, knowing that some big picture items aren't getting dealt with, but that's how it has to be right now.
Jeremiah's been going to meetings and mixers more nights than not in the past few weeks and this week is no different. He gets home just at the kid's bedtime (or some sad days, just after.) so by the time he gets home, I'm ready for a break. Enter netflix land.
Best Moment Lately:
I've maintained my priority of having good quality moments with each of my girls each day. With J. in preschool I'm now having some time when it's just C. and I. She's much quieter and independent without J. around. I can tell they miss each other. That's very sweet.
Worst Moment Lately:
More work stress. Flames... on the side of my face...flames...
Thoughts of the day:
Hurray for Trash to Treasure! My MOMS Club is having one tomorrow and I've been saving up for it all month. (the way it works: everyone brings their clothes, household items, toys, etc. that they don't want anymore, ie. trash, and lay it out. Then you can take anything that's there without minimum or maximum, ie. your treasure. Whatever's leftover will go to charity afterwards. )
All of us are trying to de-clutter our homes so we all strive to bring back less than we brought, so there's a lot left over for charity. But I've always gone home with a few things- notably, my friend Kate's old clothes that she is sick of, which is great bc we are the same size and same tastes in clothes (or since it's her trash, maybe I'm a year behind her trends or whatever).
I used this deadline to go through the closets and drawers and also bring out the cold weather clothes from storage. That's always nice when that gets done BEFORE I need it and I don't have to stress about the lack of appropriate clothing choices I have for the kids.
The other thing is, yesterday I got a major donation of used kids' clothes from a co-worker. Lots of really nice stuff! J. was particularly excited to ooh and ahhh over the clothes- you'd have thought it was christmas! After they went to bed I washed it all and then made a bag of everything that I don't really want them wearing: "diva" shirts, barbie jackets, bratz sweatshirts, disney advertising clothing (exceptions are made for Little Mermaid and Nemo, cause Jeremiah and I really like them).
Guess where that bag will go? I know some of my mom friends will grab this stuff up for playclothes if nothing else. But until my girls are old enough to pressure me to buy the latest fad stuff (and I know that day will come), I'm going to put them in comfortable, little girl clothing.
(of course, if Disney did a line of organic clothes, I'd probably be singing a different tune...)
